HP EliteBook 835 G8 is a 13.3-inch business laptop powered by AMD Ryzen PRO 5000-series Cezanne mobile APUs with integrated Radeon graphics. It is essentially the AMD-flavored EliteBook 830 G8.
Like the latter, the EliteBook 835 G8 is available with a broad range of FHD IPS displays, including a privacy display with 1000 nits of peak brightness. It also sports a simple dual-speaker, 3-microphone setup. Goodies such as fingerprint reader and Active SmartCard reader are optional, too.
However, as it usually the case with AMD-powered laptops, the 835 G8 does come with some I/O compromises: the Thunderbolt ports from the 830 G8 are dropped for USB-C 3.2 Gen2 ports, even though higher-end laptops do pair AMD Ryzen chips with USB 4.0. HP has also decided to drop the 5G mobile broadband option.
Still, the Ryzen PRO 5000 chips are themselves superior options: The Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U has six cores, while the Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U has eight cores, doubling the core count of the Intel chips (while having higher single-core performance).
