Product Overview

Samsung S27AG50 is a mid-range 27-inch QHD gaming monitor in Samsung's 2021 Odyssey G5 lineup. It uses a 10-bit IPS panel with 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time (Gray-to-Gray) and supports, unlike more affordable models in the G3 series, not only FreeSync Premium but also G-SYNC.
As such, the S27AG50 offers both speed and color accuracy, making it an attractive option for home computing applications with a healthy (or unhealthy) dose of gaming mixed in.
Compared to the 28-inch G7 flat monitor unveiled at the same time, the S27AG50 boasts a 10-bit panel with a higher refresh rate. On the flipside, it loses the integrated USB hub and downgrades the input port versions as well as FreeSync support (which is justified as the monitor has a lower resolution).
Alongside the new 27" G5 and 28" G7, Samsung also expanded the Odyssey lineup with a new G3 series, which at its debut has two models.
Curiously, the S27AG50 launched as the G27AG50, and Samsung quietly changed its model number shortly after initial release to S27AG50. In marketing materials, it is always referred to as Odyssey G5.
There is also a slightly different model, the G27AG52, with HDR support.
