Product Overview

LG NanoCell 80 (Nano80) is an affordable model in LG's 2021 NanoCell 4K TV lineup. The NanoCell 81 (Nano81) is the same TV with a smaller center stand available in select markets.
Compared to the entry-level option, the Nano75, the Nano80 adds local dimming via edge-lit LED compared to the simple direct backlighting. This helps the NanoCell 80 deliver higher HDR performance and more precise color reproduction. The Nano80 is also marginally thinner as a result. The two are identical otherwise.
Now more than ever, LG is pushing for pushing its smart TVs for productivity and gaming. The NanoCell 80 supports G-Sync and FreeSync Premium from the get go. There is also a planned update in late 2021 to make this TV compatible with Stadia cloud gaming. However, as an affordable option, the Nano80 refreshes natively at 60Hz, which may not satisfy some gamers, though LG has endowed this TV with Game Optimizer and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) for gaming.
Besides the Nano80, LG's 2021 NanoCell TV lineup also includes a range of other models announced at CES 2021.
