Product Overview

Lenovo ThinkPad T14 GEN 2 i is a premium 14-inch business laptop powered by 11th-gen Intel Core vPro processors. It offers rich security and connectivity features and options that business users have come to expect of the legendary T-series.
The direct descendent of the IBM ThinkPad, the T14 GEN 2 i introduces the Storm Grey aluminum option for the first time. It comes with an aluminum top cover that differs from the glass fiber chassis in black.
Compared to the T14s GEN 2 i unveiled at the same time, the T14 GEN 2 i uses mid-powered processors and DDR4 memory that comes with them. The black version has glass fiber top cover rather than carbon fiber, although the similarly-specified X1 Carbon GEN 9 is the fully carbon-fiber model.
Like other high-end GEN 2 ThinkPad models following Lenovo's new naming scheme, the new T14 now offers WiFi 6E. It can also be optioned with LTE WWAN for high performance data connections on the go.
Alongside the Intel-powered T14 GEN 2 i, Lenovo also unveiled the AMD-powered T14 GEN 2 as well as the ultra-slim T14s GEN 2 and T14s GEN 2 i.

notebookcheck[1]

Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 has a dedicated Nvidia GeForce MX450 graphics chip. PCIe 4.0 should have advantages, especially when you move large amounts of data. The battery life is shorter and there is throttling in the stress test. However, there is still room for optimization in some areas.
Pros
  • Full HD resolution
  • Good battery life
  • Long battery runtime
Cons
  • Higher power consumption than the T14 Gen 1 AMD
  • CPU throttles under load
