Gaming LaptopProduct Gallery
Product Overview
The 2021 MSI GE76 Raider is a high-end 17.3-inch gaming laptop powered by up to 10th-gen Intel Core i9 CPU and NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU. It improves upon the 2020 GE75 primarily by adding the latest RTX 30-series graphics.
Apart from the GPU update, the GE76 Raider takes on the design of the GE66 Raider introduced last year: This includes extensive RGB lighting, thinner chassis, and a revised hinge design. A large, 99.9Wh battery is also included, greatly extending battery life.
The 2021 GE76 also differs from its predecessor in offering a USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2 port as well as Bluetooth 5.2 support.
Alongside the GE76 Raider, MSI also refreshed at CES 2021 the 15-inch Stealth 15M, 15-inch GS66 Stealth, 15-inch GE66 Raider, 17-inch GP76 Leopard and 15-inch GP66 Leopard, and 15-inch GF65 Thin.

External Reviews
laptopmag[1]
Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)The MSI GE76 Raider has a 99.9Whr battery, the largest the TSA will allow aboard an airplane. The Raider has an excellent 1080p shooter integrated in that top bezel. It's so good that I don't even have to recommend buying an external webcam.
Pros
- Excellent gaming performance
- Excellent RGB lighting
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- Lacks Wi-Fi 6
notebookcheck[2]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)The MSI GE76 squeezes more power out of both the Core i7 CPU and GeForce RTX 30 GPU than any other gaming laptop for its size class at the moment. Less expensive GE76 SKUs with the 144 Hz panel cover only 60 percent of sRGB for noticeably inferior colors. The system suffers from major DPC latency issues and frame drops when playing 4K video content at 60 FPS on the iGPU.
Pros
- Sleek, lightweight design
- Strong performance for a gaming laptop
- Quiet under load
Cons
- No 4K display option
pcmag[3]
Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)The GE76 Raider is by any standards very fast and well-suited for high-refresh gaming. But considering its size and price tag, you might hope for a power advantage that doesn't really materialize. If you like the Raider's looks, a less expensive RTX 3070 configuration might be your best bet.
Pros
- High-refresh screen
- Excellent battery life
- High-quality aluminum chassis
Cons
- Expensive for a 17-inch gaming laptop
- No Thunderbolt 3 port
pcworld[4]
Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac) MSI GE76 Raider is an unapologetically big, heavy, traditional gaming rig. It's the first gaming laptop we've seen with Wi-Fi 6E support using an Intel AX201. We had no major complaints about the per-key lit keyboard. The trackpad is well placed, with a slight metallic feel, and it supports Microsoft Precision drivers.
Pros
- Sleek, light design
- High-wattage GPU
- Good battery life
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3 port
- No webcam
techradar[5]
Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)The MSI GE76 Raider is an absolute powerhouse of a gaming laptop. No matter what game you throw at this thing, you're going to be able to max it out at a high framerate. It would also work exceptionally well as a mobile workstation, thanks to the huge amount of RAM and the exceptional CPU performance on offer.
Pros
- Super-fast gaming performance
- Powerful graphics
- Great battery life
Cons
- Display could be brighter
- Limited color options
