Product Overview

The 2021 MSI GP66 Leopard is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop powered by up to 10th-gen Intel Core i7 CPU and NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU. It improves upon the 2020 GP65 by adding the latest RTX 30-series graphics.
Apart from the GPU update, the GP66 takes on a different physical design than the 2020 model, dropping the number pad and decreasing the thickness.

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from gizmodo have found:
MSI's GP66 Leopard can easily handle graphically intensive games. The dual fans can get a little loud at times, but that's par for the course with gaming laptops. The $1,899 price tag on this model is in line with what you'd normally spend building your own desktop.
Pros
  • Great gaming performance
  • Great keyboard and touchpad
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 3 ports
  • Very expensive

Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
PCMark results are where we expect them to be relative to other laptops with the same CPU and GPU. LatencyMon shows no DPC latency issues when opening multiple browser tabs on our homepage. 4K video playback at 60 FPS is smooth and with no dropped frames as to be expected from any gaming laptop.
Pros
  • Sleeker, sleeker design
  • Long battery life
  • Slim bezels
  • Great performance-per-watt
Cons
  • Dim display
  • Slow SD card reader
  • No Thunderbolt 3

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from theverge have found:
The GP66 Leopard uses an RTX 2070 Super Max-Q chip. It's a step up from MSI's high-end GS66 Stealth. The Leopard employs MSI's “Cooler Boost 5” system, which includes two fans and six heat pipes. Battery life is a major area where the GP66 isn't ahead of its competition.
Pros
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Solid build quality
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Dim screen
  • Dim display

tomshardware[4]

Reviewer score 66% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
MSI's GP66 Leopard is a powerful gaming notebook that draws attention to games, not itself. There is quite a lot of software preinstalled on the GP66, which has been a trademark of MSI laptops. For $1,799, you can get the Leopard with a Core i7-10750H, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD.
Pros
  • Gorgeous 240 Hz display
  • Powerful gaming performance
  • Good keyboard
Cons
  • Bloatware
  • No webcam
