Product Overview

Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 with AMD is a 15.6-inch business laptop powered by AMD Ryzen 4000 U-series processors. Released with the E15 Gen 1 (powered by Intel), the E15 Gen 2 with AMD is the successor to the E595, despite the naming.
An entry-level model, the E15 Gen 2 with AMD is nevertheless tested against military-grade requirements for durability like all ThinkPad models. It offers most of the optional features found in the Intel-powered variant, though more storage space, memory, and FIDO (Fast Identity Online) authentication are supported as a tradeoff for the missing Thunderbolt 4 port.
Lenovo also markets a 14-inch E14 Gen 2 powered by either Intel or AMD.

Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
The ThinkPad E15 Gen.2 is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 4800U processor. It is twice as fast as the E15 with a Core i7 CPU in the multi-core benchmarks. Under load, the bottom of the device becomes too hot to touch. The E15 is unfit for any sort of professional photo/video editing.
Pros
  • Matte IPS panel
  • Good input devices
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Poor colour reproduction
  • Mediocre speakers
