Product Overview

Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 with Intel is a 14-inch business laptop powered by 11th-gen, 10nm Tiger Lake Intel Core processors. Released only months after its predecessor, the E14 Gen 2 is more compact and offers significantly changes in features.
Despite its entry-level positioning in the ThinkPad lineup, the E14 Gen 2 drops optional plastic casing. Thanks to the 11th-gen Intel chip, the E14 Gen 2 adds Thunderbolt 4 support. It also offers WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, both improvements over the ThinkPad E14.
Lenovo also markets the E14 Gen 2 powered by AMD as well as the 15.6-inch E15 Gen 2 powered by either Intel or AMD.

Reviewer score 67% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
The ThinkPad E14 comes with one year limited, complete with customer service and support. Lenovo's Vantage software is the main system management tool here. There is plenty of ventilation on the bottom and around the hinge, which help keep the surfaces you're in contact with below 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Under pressure, the touchpad heats up to 75 degrees, the centre of the keyboard gets up to 84 degrees, and the underside hits 89 degrees.
Pros
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Good battery life
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Loud fan
  • Poor webcam quality

notebookcheck[2]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
The Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 is a good office notebook for the price. The Intel version of the ThinkPad has all the features that the AMD model has. It also comes with a Thunderbolt 4 port, which is the first E series ThinkPad with this powerful and versatile port. Some individuals may be quite annoyed by coil whine, which crops up when the laptop is plugged in.
Pros
  • Very good performance
  • Very good battery life
  • Thunderbolt 4 port
  • Good input devices
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 4 port

Reviewers from pcworld have found:
The Lenovo ThinkPad E14 delivers pretty much what you'd expect on the performance front. Its trackpad just isn't as smooth as the models on most other laptops in the $1,000-and-up price range. The battery life and graphics are both letdowns. Its most exemplary feature is its keyboard, but that's offset by a disappointing trackpad.
Pros
  • Lightweight design
  • Solid performance
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Lacks anti-glare features

techradar[4]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
At 3.5 lbs and 17.9mm thick, it's thicker and heavier than what we're looking for in a laptop we'd need to bring with us to business meetings and work trips. The trackpad is also a little annoying, and not very comfortable to use. Despite our unit only having the mid-range i5 chip, it hasn't shown any signs of massive slowdowns during demanding tasks.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Mediocre performance
  • Trackpad isn’t as responsive as it should be
