External Reviews
cnet[1]
Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)Gigabyte's Aorus 15G has an eight-core Intel processor, upper-midrange RTX 2070 Super with Max-Q GPU. The Omron B3KL low-profile switches are tactile and clicky, though relatively quiet. The 15G is a chunky laptop, so it's not a great pick if you're looking for something for regular travel.
Pros
- Fast 240Hz refresh rate
- Solid build quality
- Great battery life
Cons
- Chunky design
- Chunky power supply
laptopmag[2]
Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Aorus 15G is packing a brand spankin' new CPU, aka the Intel Core i7-10875H processor with 16GB of RAM. It juggled 40 Google Chrome tabs and five 1080p YouTube videos without flinching. It transcoded a 4K video to 1080p in 7 minutes and 59 seconds on our HandBrake benchmark.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Strong performance
- Solid battery life
Cons
- Mediocre speakers
- Dim display
notebookcheck[3]
Reviewer score 57% (normalized by Neofiliac)The laptop has enough computing power for all common application areas. The system works well and smoothly, and we didn't encounter any problems. The two fans are usually not quiet in idle usage. Idle sound pressure levels of up to 38 dB(A) are quite high. The fans really turn up under load.
Pros
- Matte IPS display
- Good battery life
- NVMe SSD
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3
pcmag[4]
Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Aorus 15G is capable of maintaining triple-digit frame rates in demanding titles. It's not the thinnest high-end gaming notebook out there, but the extra few tenths of an inch buys room for a fantastic keyboard. The Aorus has the right pricing on the 15G, especially the top-end model we tested.
Pros
- Gorgeous 240Hz display
- Excellent battery life
- Comfortable keyboard
Cons
- No G-Sync
- No webcam
tomshardware[5]
Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Gigabyte Aorus 15G XB is an excellent laptop for gamers where input is a priority. With just a little bit of extra chunk, it manages to fit an almost desktop-caliber mechanical keyboard into its frame. It suffers from poor audio fidelity as well as subpar display brightness and color coverage, but a high refresh rate keeps the screen from being irrelevant when placed alongside rivals. The $2,699 price tag on the model we tested is about dead even with the Aorus, however.
Pros
- Great productivity performance
- Long battery life
- Great keyboard
Cons
- Poor webcam placement
- Poor audio fidelity
trustedreviews[6]
Reviewer score 62% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Aorus 15G is available in two distinct configurations. Prices begin at £1699 and plateau at £2899, with my review model costing a modest £2000. Given the 1080p resolution, the RTX 2070 Super was able to handle all of the games I threw at it on maximum settings. It’s capable of maintaining a number of applications and tasks outside of playing games at any given time.
Pros
- Excellent gaming performance
- Solid build quality
- Decent battery life
Cons
- Keyboard is flimsy
- Keyboard isn’t included
