laptopmag[1]
Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Lenovo Legion 5i is a budget-friendly, minimalistic laptop that is perfect for folks who get down to business in the morning and enjoy PC gaming at night. The camera quality is less-than-impressive — it has plenty of visual noise and poor color rendering. Running on Windows 10 Home, this laptop does come with some bloatware, including Candy Crush Friends and Farm Heroes Saga.
Pros
- Sleek, minimalist design
- Bright, colorful display
- Comfortable keyboard
Cons
- Mediocre battery life
- Dim display

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Lenovo Legion 5i is a smart refinement of last year's new Legion gaming laptops. It's not the lightest or most exciting design, but it's well-made and includes some advanced features. The laptop's not quite an Editors' Choice, as the Asus ROG G14 offers an unbeatable value.
Pros
- Solid 1080p gaming performance
- Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
- Good battery life
Cons
- Mediocre webcam placement
techradar[3]
Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)Lenovo Legion 5i is a fairly standard-looking laptop - this isn't one from the likes of Razer with iconic features and colors. The finish feels premium and everything is very well laid out. The keyboard lights up for those who want a little flair - giving you white and RGB backlight options - but the otherwise more subdued approach means this is a gaming laptop you wouldn't be embarrassed to take into the office.
Pros
- Decent gaming performance
- Comfortable keyboard
Cons
- Short battery life
- Poor webcam

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Legion 5i is one of the few all-plastic laptops that doesn't creak when I lift up, or adjust, the screen. Outside of gaming, this configuration with 16GB of RAM has no issue running a swath of my most-used applications. The components here make for decent export speeds if you use Adobe Premiere Pro for video production.
Pros
- Fast 144Hz refresh rate
- Solid gaming performance
- Solid build quality
Cons
- No SD card reader
- No Thunderbolt 3
tomshardware[5]
Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Lenovo Legion 5i is a convenient, powerful and easy-to-use laptop. It's not the thickest and heaviest, though, as that title belongs to the AMD-powered TUF A15. Lenovo Vantage consolidates Lenovo's previous companion, settings and account portal apps into one program. If you're willing to tinker with its Optimus settings, you can get the most out of it.
Pros
- Gorgeous 144 Hz G-Sync display
- Comfortable keyboard
- Good battery life
Cons
- Lackluster performance
