pcmag[1]
Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)The HP Omen 15 is a formidable gaming machine with lots of grunt. Nearly 10 hours of battery life from a gaming notebook, especially one packing an eight-core CPU, is remarkable. It could use a second storage drive, and it is more expensive than your average GeForce GTX 1660 notebook. But if you're already spending that much for what is a luxury, the Omen is a step up.
Pros
- Powerful eight-core CPU
- Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
- Long battery life
Cons
- No second storage drive
- No Thunderbolt 3 port
techadvisor[2]
Reviewer score 55% (normalized by Neofiliac)The HP Omen 15 is a powerful and reasonably well-balanced machine. AMD's chip is almost always faster than Intel's competitors, which means the Omen delivers responsive performance in day-to-day tasks alongside more ability to handle tougher workloads. Its internal temperatures are fine and it's not noisy when tackling work tasks, but it's too loud during games. The speaker grille becomes too hot, and the underside is warm and potentially uncomfortable if the machine is on your lap.
Pros
- Fantastic gaming performance
- Comfortable keyboard
- Good battery life
Cons
- Middling CPU performance
- Middling battery life
techradar[3]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)The HP Omen 15 is one huge beast of a gaming laptop to say the least. It is very heavy to carry around on a regular basis and difficult to haul around if you are a regular traveler or commuter. The display is very large, coming in at 15.6 inches with a 144Hz refresh rate. There is also a built-in webcam which records at 720p which is reasonable enough for carrying out everyday video calling (something many of us are doing an increased amount of)
Pros
- Gorgeous display
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent gaming performance
Cons
- Battery life could be better
- No external speakers
trustedreviews[4]
Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)The HP Omen 15 features a Full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The presence of Nvidia G-Sync also helps to prevent screen tearing when gaming. It features a Graphics Switcher, allowing you to swap between ‘Discrete’ and ‘Hybrid’ performance. Despite having such good specs, this configuration is available at a very generous £1600.
Pros
- Fantastic gaming performance
- Excellent build quality
- Good battery life
Cons
- Mediocre display
- No 4K option
