Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Tamron 35mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 is a fine alternative to the Sony FE 35mm F1.8. The lens locks onto subjects as close as 5.9 inches from the image plane. There is some noise as the focusing element moves to lock focus, which is distracting if you're recording video.
Pros
  • Excellent image quality at f/2.8 and f/4.2
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Occasional noise when focusing

The Tamron 35mm F2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 (330 euros) is an excellent lens for its price. It is part a set of new Prime lenses with all a short focusing distance, a 1.2 magnification ratio, a F1.8 aperture, same length, same weight. Sharpness performances is excellent to Outstanding in all situations. The Bokeh Balls show 7 sided shaped polygons as of F5.6.
Pros
  • hotos, taken with Sony A7RIV are available in full size (61Mpix) in the following Flickr album : Tamron 35mm F2.8 AF
  • Compact design with same size, same filter, same aperture, same magnification ratio (1:2) and very close focusing distance and almost ...
Cons
  • Not yet a Lightroom lens profile but this should come in a future release of Lightroom to correct Distorsion and Vignetting automatically
  • Corners are very close but one grade lower
  • F11 diffraction start to decrease the sharpness
