cameralabs[1]
Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Tamron 20mm f2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 offers a fairly unique proposition for owners of Sony's full-frame mirrorless cameras. It's a small and light prime lens with weather sealing, delivering good to very good resolution in the APS-C image-circle at normal shooting distances. On the downside, its unique selling point of 1:2 magnification delivered results that looked mushy outside of the centre in my tests. Plus the Tamron is very slow to focus, although this won’t be a big issue for mostly static subjects.
Pros
- 1:2 magnification
- Very wide angle of view
- Very good image-circle at normal shooting distances
Cons
- Slow autofocus
- Slow focus response

Reviewer score 67% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Tamron 20mm f/2.8 Di III OSD Lens delivers excellent image sharpness, especially for the price. The bayonet-mount rigid molded plastic petal-shaped Tamron HF050 hood is rather small. Tamron emphasizes that this lens was "Designed in Japan" but in fine print admits that it was "Made in Vietnam"
Pros
- Excellent image sharpness at f/2.8
- Compact design
- Good build quality
Cons
- Very strong barrel distortion
- No manual focus adjustment

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Tamron 11-20mm F2.8 Di III-A RXD fills a notable gap in Sony's APS-C lens catalog. It's a wide, made-for-APS zoom with dust and splash protection. Its optics are stellar, and it gathers twice as much light as Sony's 10-18mm.
Pros
- Wide-angle lens with dust and splash protection
- Sharp center resolution
- F2.8 optics
Cons
- No optical stabilization
- No stabilization

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Tamron 20mm F2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 (330 euros) is an excellent wide angle lens. There is not yet a Lightroom lens profile but I hope it will come in a future release of Lightroom to correct Distorsion and Vignetting automatically. The Bokeh Balls are good wide open and circular but as soon as you close down you see the 7 blades of the aperture and you don't have anymore a circle. The color rendition is very good.
Pros
- Very short focusing distance
- Very close focusing distance (1:2)
- Very good bokeh/background blur
Cons
- Not yet a Lightroom lens profile
- Less ” excellent” than the Tamron
