External Reviews
androidauthority[1]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)With a 56Wh battery and a 40W CPU, the Huawei MateBook 14 2020 AMD shouldn't be all that hot in the battery life department. I mostly used Google Chrome, Brave, Slack, and Spotify on the laptop at once. This gave me about six hours of usage over WiFi, with the keyboard fully illuminated and the display at 50% brightness. When gaming, expect no more than 45-minutes on this battery. The main missing element is a discrete GPU.
Pros
- Fantastic battery life
- Great port selection
- Comfortable keyboard
Cons
- No SD card slot
- No microSD card slot

Reviewer score 66% (normalized by Neofiliac)Both Huawei MateBook laptops contain PCIe NVMe SSDs in the M.2 2280 format with a capacity of 512 GB. The Western Digital model used in the MateBook 14 AMD is slightly slower than the Lite-On SSD in the Intel version. The cooling system on the AMD model is simply better. The Nvidia GeForce MX350 is a dedicated GPU based on the old "Pascal" architecture.
Pros
- Matte IPS display
- Good battery life
- High-quality case
- Good speakers
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3
techadvisor[3]
Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 2020 MateBook 14 is available for either £749 or £949 in the UK. AMD's integrated graphics tech remains surprisingly robust, and so the MateBook even holds its own on the 3DMark graphics benchmark. But the limitations are clear – it was actually outperformed by last year's model, with a Core i7 and MX250, despite comfortably beating that model on the PCMark computing test.
Pros
- Fantastic performance
- Great value for money
- Great battery life
Cons
- No webcam
