Product Overview

HZ2000 4K OLED television is the flagship of Panasonic's 2020 OLED smart TV lineup. Panasonic promises up to 20% extra peak brightness compared to conventional OLED TVs.
The HZ2000 is also the first TV to support Dolby Vision IQ and Filmmaker Mode in addition to other HDR formats. They also feature upward-firing speakers to deliver Dolby Atmos.
Panasonic also markets the HZ1500, HZ1000, and HZ980 series 4K OLED TVs for 2020. They differ mainly in the quality of the built-in speakers and audio processing features; hence, for home theatre setups where an external audio system is employed, these TVs should deliver the same performance.

    Reviewers from t3 have found:
Panasonic TX-55HZ2000 is a cinema-centric OLED TV with a picture performance that is second to none. Its onboard Dolby Atmos sound system is suitably immersive as a bonus, but the picture is a big draw here. Catch-up TV choice is wide, courtesy of the set's Freeview Play tuner. The TV also works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa ecosystems.
    Pros
    • Excellent picture quality
    • Dolby Atmos sound system
    • Good value for money
    Cons
    • Lacks rear surround
    • No Dolby Vision

    Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
Panasonic’s HCX Pro Intelligent image processor is a perfect match for that Professional Edition Master OLED panel. The HCX upscaling is so artful many will struggle to tell HD sources apart from native 4K. Filmmaker Mode disables interpolation, image sharpening and other processing niceties. Dolby Atmos sound system is also a star when it comes to Atmos encoded sports from the likes of Sky and BT.
    Pros
    • Dolby Atmos sound system
    • Impressive 4K HDR performance
    • Excellent build quality
    Cons
    • No Disney+ support
    • No Dolby Vision IQ

    Reviewers from whathifi have found:
Panasonic HZ2000 is the first OLED TV to support Dolby Vision IQ and Filmmaker Mode. The TV uses an external sensor to measure the surrounding ambient light, and adjusts the picture accordingly. The new flagship sports a 140-watt configuration comprised of a midrange/tweeter and double woofer/passive radiator on each bottom side, a centre speaker in the bottom middle and two upward-firing Atmos speakers at the top.
    Pros
    • Excellent picture quality
    • Dolby Vision IQ and Filmmaker Mode
    Cons
    • No HDR10+ support
