Product Overview

BMW X6 G06 is a mid-size crossover in production from 2019. It is available with a range of inline-6 and V8 engines that displaced 3.0 to 4.4 liters.
Compared to the G05 X5 on which it is based, the X6 is an uglier, hunchback variant with reduced practicality and inflated price.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the BMW X6 (G06) comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. This is a bit unusual for AWD and less tunable than a multi-link front setup, but what you lose in performance you gain in durability.

autoexpress[1]

Reviewer score 60% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
BMW's latest X6 is a competitive SUV coupe. Its driving characteristics and equipment are towards the top of the class and it performs well too. Diesel versions still make the most sense in terms of running costs and drive well. Thanks to a larger cabin than before, interior practicality is good too.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good range of engines
Cons
  • Not quite as fun to drive as rivals
  • No seven-seat option

carmagazine[2]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
BMW has sold more than 450,000 of the SUV-coupe mash-up genre. The X6 has something of a Jekyll and Hyde character in this range-topping version. It'll cruise remarkably quietly in Comfort mode, but carves corners with surprising urgency when you flick to Sport and get your toe in.
Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine
  • Superb infotainment system
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lack of practicality

cnet[3]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The X6 M50i is a hoot to drive, and thankfully, it's not an annoying performance-forward mess. On the only-sort-of-okay roads around Spartanburg, South Carolina, the X6 impresses with its smoothness. Safety equipment abounds, with standard kit including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist.
Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine
  • Comfortable ride
  • Excellent standard equipment
Cons
  • No telematics
