cameralabs[1]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cameralabs have found:
The Canon RF 24-105 f4-7.1 STM is the budget kit zoom the EOS R system has been waiting for. Sure, it may lack the glamour of the brighter aperture and more exotic models, but every system needs a low-cost general-purpose zoom to bundle with the entry-level bodies. Thankfully modern lens design coupled with in-camera corrections actually makes it a lot better than you’d think, especially for the size, weight and money.
Pros
  • Excellent sharpness across the frame
  • In-camera corrections
  • Sturdy build quality
Cons
  • Larger aperture than the 24-240

digitalpicture[2]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitalpicture have found:
The Canon RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM Lens solidly fills the empty slot in the RF lens lineup. The RF lens costs 2/3 as much and does not require a size, weight, and cost-increasing adapter to mount on an R-series body. The 24-240mm lens has an over 2x longer focal length available, and it appropriately costs 2x as much.
Pros
  • Sleek, compact design
  • Low price
  • Nano USM AF system
Cons
  • Larger apertures than RF lens

pcmag[3]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Canon RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM is the most affordable zoom for the R system. It puts up very good resolution wide open at 24mm f/4, and delivers excellent resolution at f/5.6 through f/11. Autofocus is absolutely silent, and there's not much visible change in view as focus is adjusted.
Pros
  • Excellent image quality at all focal lengths
  • Autofocus is silent
  • Compact build
Cons
  • Some distortion at f/4.1
