  • Unreliable range of FSI engines
  • Adoption of CVT for FWD
  • Weak automatic transmission
  • Nose-heavy
  • Not as easy to work on as its contemporaries, though far better than later Audis
  • Worse styling than the hatchback
  • 2.0 TFSI got the Euro 6d treatment
  • Stuck with MacPherson struts in the front
