Product Overview

Mini Convertible F57 LCI is an affordable subcompact convertible in production from 2018. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.5 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift model, the LCI has slight cosmetic updates that brings the car a more modern look. The underpinnings, however, remained the same.
Utility-minded owners will have to keep in mind that the 215L (8cu-ft) cargo space may not be sufficient.

The Mini Cooper S Convertible doesn't look all that different following its midlife facelift. The lights front and rear now use LEDs, for instance, while adaptive LED headlights are optional. A touchscreen infotainment interface and wireless mobile phone charging have also been added to the options list. There are new personalisation options, too, including car industry first 3D-printed components that buyers can customise with their own name or simple images.

The MINI Cooper S Convertible hits the sweet spot as a small and fun drop-top. It boasts an excellent blend of performance and value – and this mid-life facelift keeps things fresh. This isn't the particular MINI Convertible we'd choose, however – the regular Cooper version serves up very nearly as much fun.

  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • No automatic gearbox
  • Rear bench and boot are a bit tight

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The latest MINI Convertible is bigger than before, and in the front there's plenty of room for two. In the back seats it's a different story, as you'll need to have the front seats set quite far forward to get any adults in the back. Still, it's easier to get into the back than in the hatch, since you can get the roof off and hop in easily enough. The seats aren't uncomfortable either, so it's just a case of limited space inside. The MINI has never had a big boot, and at 215 litres the Convertible's is as small as ever.

Pros
  • Bigger than before
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Poor rear legroom
  • Lack of safety kit
