Product Overview

Lotus Evora is a compact crossover in production from 2009 to 2021. It was available with a range of Toyota-sourced V6 engines that displaced 3.5 liters.
Compared to the Lotus Elise, the Evora is more focused for handling.
Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Lotus Evora comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. Combined with RWD, this setup provides one of the best handling characteristics and tuning capabilities.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The GT410 is Lotus's most refined model. Uses a supercharged Toyota 3.5-litre V6 and pairs this with a six-speed manual gearbox. Unlike the Exige and Elise, it also uses power steering, but the set-up is hydraulic rather than electromechanical and the application is light.
Pros
  • Class-leading handling
  • Powerful turbocharged V6
  • Impressive handling
Cons
  • Lacklustre infotainment

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre V6 gains an intercooled supercharger and 134bhp from its original state, now making 410bhp and 420Nm. It's lighter too: the GT410 weighs 59kg less than the hardcore Cayman, the result being that the Brit sprints from 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds - two tenths quicker than Porsche's official claim. Throttle response is instant, helped by a lightweight flywheel that feels free of inertia.
Pros
  • Fantastic infotainment system
  • Powerful engine
  • Impressive handling
Cons
  • Not the most fun to drive

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 96% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The Lotus Evora is the world's only mid-engined 2+2. The chassis is all-new and comes in three parts: the central tub, a front frame and a rear frame. It drives just like a more grown-up Elise with a wonderful balance and strong (anti-lock-equipped) brakes.
Pros
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Powerful engine
  • Superb handling
Cons
  • Nothing in particular

cnet[4]

Reviewer score 95% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The Lotus Evora GT can handle far more than you're willing to give it on public roads. The chassis is still made largely of aluminum, with many body panels constructed from carbon fiber. At its lightest, the GT tips the scales at some 2,800 pounds, or about 70 pounds less than the Evora 400.
Pros
  • Grippy Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires
  • Fantastic powertrain
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Somewhat expensive

topgear[5]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from topgear have found:
As the heaviest and biggest-engined Lotus, you can expect commensurate fuel expense. But we're hardly talking about V8-powered Land Cruisers here – remember that the Evora's comfortably under the 1,400kg mark. It's a heroically entertaining drive, a properly joyous experience that's in increasingly short supply. But it's treachery from within that really hobbles theEvora.
Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Superb handling
Cons
  • Pricier than rivals
  • Not the most fun to drive
