Product Overview

Audi SQ7 (Type 4M) facelift is the performance variant of the Mk2 Q7 large crossover in production from 2019. It debuted with a 4.0 TDI engine, which was replaced by a 4.0 TFSI unit in 2020 as VW discontinued the V8 diesel unit.
Compared to the standard Q7, the ridiculously large front grille is even more obnoxious. Still, it has a much more interesting engine that somehow justifies this "excess".
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, will appreciate the approach and departure angles that the chassis offers.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Audi SQ7 comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners.

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The cabin is as plush and accommodating as you would expect that of a large Audi. There’s masses of adjustment in both the seat and the steering column and visibility is good. At £78,190, the SQ7 also makes a pretty strong case for itself as a value proposition - if such a thing can really exist at this end of the market.
Pros
  • Powerful engines
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent infotainment system
Cons
  • Fiddly to operate
  • No third row of seats

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The latest version of the Audi SQ7 is the brawniest iteration of the brand's biggest SUV. Audi has ditched the old V8 diesel and opted to fit a new 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine in its Range Rover Sport SVR rival. For the new SQ7, the V8 is tuned to develop 500bhp - a leap of 71 bhp - and 770Nm torque. The power increase has had a significant impact on the 0-62mph time of the SQ7.
Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • No full-fat RS badging
  • More expensive than rivals

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The Audi SQ7 TFSI is the latest model to undergo a powertrain transplant. Gone is the epic torquey twin-turbo V8 diesel, replaced by one with the same configuration but drinks from the green pump rather than the black one. Audi's spokespeople told us it was because they want to sell it (and the coupe-SUV SQ8 sibling) in the US market – a market that has held disdain for diesel for far longer than Europe has.
Pros
  • Powerful petrol engine
  • Big boot
  • Lots of fun to drive
Cons
  • Noisy diesel engine

cnet[4]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The 2020 SQ7 starts at $85,795 (including $995 delivery), while 2021 models ring up $200 higher. The SQ7 taps out at 69.6 cubic feet of cargo room with its second- and third-row seats folded. Audi's MMI Touch Response infotainment system and Virtual Cockpit gauge cluster are some of the luxury segment's best in-car tech offerings.
Pros
  • Bigger third-row seats than rivals
  • Powerful MMI Touch Response infotainment tech
Cons
  • Expensive compared to rivals
