Product Overview

Volkswagen T-Cross (chassis code C11) is a subcompact crossover in production from 2019. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 1.6 liters.
Based on the Mk6 Polo, the T-Cross is ill-equipped and ugly. It is the smallest crossover (falsely marketed as "SUV") in VW's lineup.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The 1.6 TDI is the most expensive engine option, but it also provides the lowest CO2 rating in the range at 140g/km on the WLTP testing regime. Its power output is the same as that of the 1.0 TSI three-cylinder turbo petrol, but of course there’s plenty more torque, namely 184lb ft, rather than 129lb ft. This car should lug well, then, especially when laden with a family.
Pros
  • Punchy petrol engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lacklustre handling
  • Pricier than rivals

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 44% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Volkswagen T-Cross is a small SUV that was first revealed as a concept at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. It is Volkswagen's contribution to the hugely popular small SUV segment and went on sale in March 2019. Rivals include the Citroen C3 Aircross, Renault Captur and Mazda CX-3, as well as the other similarly sized models within the Volkswagen Group.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent fuel economy
Cons
  • Not the sharpest
  • Not the most comfortable to drive

carwow[3]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carwow have found:
The VW T-Cross is an easy-to-drive and practical family car with a high seating position. There's loads of room to stretch out in the front and the neat sliding rear seats mean there's space for six-footers to get comfy in the back. The controls are all nice and light so your arms won't tire of manoeuvring through tight city streets and you get plenty of advanced driver assistance systems as standard.
Pros
  • Easy-to-drive
  • Lots of standard kit
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Poor infotainment system
  • Not quite as comfortable as rivals
