Product Overview

Ford Edge Mk2 is a mid-size crossover in production from 2015. It is available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.5 liters.
A rather ugly car, the Mk2 Edge is a symbol of the disease in the automotive industry.
Utility-minded owners will love the 2079L (73cu-ft) cargo space. The Ford Edge II also comes with a high towing capacity. Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Ford Edge II uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The new Ford Edge Vignale starts at £45,995 - more expensive than the cheapest Range Rover Velar. Three-strong model range is made up of the Titanium from £36,995, the new ST-Line from £42,995 and the range-topping Vignales. New, intelligent all-wheel drive system can decouple the rear axle entirely to save fuel. Ford claims up to 42.2mpg on the combined cycle.
Pros
  • Very good powertrain
  • Decent cabin space
  • Good standard equipment
Cons
  • Lacklustre handling
  • No automatic gearbox

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 48% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Ford Edge is a family-sized SUV with an impressively practical interior. It's comfortable, easy to drive, very well equipped and comes with a good collection of safety aids to give you added peace of mind. Ford is hoping to make a step upmarket with this car, however, and the dull handling might hold the Edge back when it's compared to rivals in its price bracket.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good standard equipment
Cons
  • Lack of seven-seat option
  • No seven-seater option

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The Ford Edge is the Blue Oval's first foray into the large off-roader market in the UK since the petrol station-draining 4.0-litre Ford Explorer of the '90s. While Land Rover, Hyundai and Kia offer seven-seat models, the Edge is available solely with five seats. The engine and trim choice is limited too, with just manual-only 178bhp and automatic-only 207bhp diesel motors.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Competitively priced
Cons
  • No seven-seat option
  • Lack of standard equipment

cnet[4]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The 2019 Ford Edge starts at $30,000, but the high-spec Titanium begins at $38,550. With front-wheel drive, the Edge nets EPA fuel economy ratings of 22 miles per gallon city, 29 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined. Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system is a favorite thanks to its easy-to-use interface.
Pros
  • Comfortable ride
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Poor rearview camera
  • Lack of safety tech
