Product Overview

SEAT Ateca (chassis code KJ7) facelift is an affordable subcompact crossover in production from 2020. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift, little has changed, mostly in terms of rearrangements in the plastic parts. Compared to the Arona, the Ateca has roughly the same drivetrain setup, though it has access to more powerful engines and optional AWD.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, need to think twice before pulling the trigger: the Seat Ateca is hardly the "offroader" that Seat would like you to think.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 62% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Seat’s first crossover SUV has managed to sell more than 300,000 units across Europe since its introduction four years ago. The new Ateca is still nimble enough, with the same reassuring levels of grip that help make for a more engaging drive. The chassis and suspension remain on the stiffer side, and although they are comfortable enough across most road surfaces, they aren’t overly absorbing of larger bumps and humps.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Improved infotainment system
Cons
  • Lacklustre off-road performance
  • No six-speed manual option

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The SEAT Ateca is one of the best crossovers on sale. It uses tried-and-tested features from the Leon hatchback and other models within the VW Group family. Prices range from £23,000 to over £37,000, so it matches its rivals for cost.
Pros
  • Best-in-class infotainment system
  • Excellent range of engines
Cons
  • Lack of standard equipment
