Product Overview

Fiat 500X (Type 334) facelift is an entry-level subcompact crossover in production from 2018. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift, the main difference is the compliance to Euro 6d emission standard. Otherwise, the car received only minor cosmetic updates.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, need to think twice before pulling the trigger: the Fiat 500X is hardly the "offroader" that Fiat would like you to think.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 60% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The 500X Sport gets a number of changes inside and out. Dark grey highlights, body-coloured side skirts and wheel arch trims, unique alloy wheels, a chromed dual exhaust and a pseudo-diffuser give a big lift. The equally quick and similarly specified 500X Cross Plus is £1200 cheaper, but it does without the visual upgrades and sharper responses.
Pros
  • Sleek looks
  • Lots of standard equipment
Cons
  • Slightly stiffer suspension
  • No automatic gearbox

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 50% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Fiat 500X is the second best-selling model in the Italian maker's line-up. The design has been freshened front and rear with similar LED lights to those found on the 500 city car, while new colours – like our car's Italia Blue – help the 500X stand out. Inside, Fiat has taken the opportunity to improve the look and feel of the cabin, with more soft-touch materials than before.
Pros
  • Bigger and more fun to drive
  • Fantastic infotainment system
Cons
  • Lacklustre ride
  • No diesel option

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
Fiat 500X is the company's second biggest seller after the proper 500. The X shares its underpinnings with another Fiat-Chrysler big seller, the recently refreshed Jeep Renegade. Urban spec has a more on-road look, while the City Cross and Cross Plus trim levels have silvery trim designed to look like serious off-road bash plates front and rear.
Pros
  • Powerful engines
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Not the most fun to drive

cnet[4]

Reviewer score 45% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
Every 500X comes with a Fiat-skinned version of Chrysler's excellent Uconnect multimedia system. A big change for 2019 is what's under the hood: every 500X gets a new, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine. Unfortunately, the nine-speed automatic gearbox continues to be a sore spot.
Pros
  • Fun-to-drive engine
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Lots of driver assistance tech
Cons
  • Tough ride
  • Somewhat heavy steering
