Product Overview

Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake is a large station wagon in production from 2020. It is available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.4 to 2.0 liters.
Based on the Arteon sedan, the Shooting Brake has a more graceful profile and markedly increased interior space and practicality. Mechanically and performance-wise, the car is comparable to the facelifted sedan.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
, the fastback being 1428mm tall and the estate 1447mm. Both Arteon variants are offered here with four revised turbocharged four-cylinder engines. All get front-wheel drive and, in most cases, the choice of a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Also coming, although not until next spring, are the new Arteons R and Shooting Brake R.
Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent infotainment
Cons
  • Fiddly to use
  • No automatic gearbox

carwow[2]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carwow have found:
Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake has a longer, flatter roof than the regular car. It also has a kink in the rear window so it doesn't just look like a dolled-up Passat Estate from the side. There's a bunch of petrol and diesel engines to choose from, with either two- or four-wheel drive. There is also a Volkswagen Artean Plug-in Hybrid in the range.
Pros
  • Bigger boot than the regular Arteon
  • Lots of fun to drive
Cons
  • Noisy infotainment
