Product Overview

Mini Clubman F54 LCI is an affordable subcompact station wagon in production from 2019. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.5 to 2.0 liters.
Essentially a more affordable variant of the F52 BMW 1 Series, the F54 LCI is one a stylish, if not truly useful vehicle. Compared to the pre-LCI Clubman, roughly the same engines have been carried over with some updates to meet more stringent emission control regulations.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Mini Clubman uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 52% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Under the skin, the Clubman is largely unchanged, with the same 134bhp turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine as before. As standard, this drives the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, but our car had the optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Despite the sporting connotations of the Cooper name, it's no fireball, being brisk rather than quick.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Lots of fun to drive
Cons
  • Lack of practicality
  • Dated DCT

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The MINI Clubman is a niche offering that's better considered alongside premium hatchbacks than conventional small estates. It is a MINI that can genuinely be used as a proper family car, all the while retaining much of what makes smaller MINI models so great to drive. Strong engines and an engaging, composed chassis are highlights.
Pros
  • Strong engines
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good standard equipment
Cons
  • Alternatives offer bigger boots
  • No four-wheel drive

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
There is some of the Mini hatch's energy here, but there's no mistaking the Clubman feels a larger, longer, heavier car. The steering takes a second to wake up around the dead-ahead and there's a little body roll to gather up, which blunts some of a Mini's responsive turn-in. It's a grown-up feel, if little different from the pre-facelift model. Standard equipment includes sat-nav with real-time traffic information, heated seats, reversing camera and parking sensors.
Pros
  • Punchy turbo engine
  • Lots of fun to drive
  • Comfortable ride
Cons
  • Lack of wheel control
  • Slightly fiddly infotainment

Reviewers from cnet have found:
2020 Mini John Cooper Works Clubman All4 starts at $39,400 for the base Classic trim. The Clubman's smaller form factor might eat into cargo capacity, but there's still a good amount of usable space inside. Standard safety systems include automatic emergency braking, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights.
Pros
  • Sleek styling
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of tech
  • No adjustable home screen
