Product Overview

Porsche Panamera 971 facelift is an executive sedan in production from 2020. It is available with a range of V6 and V8 engines that displaced 2.9 to 4.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift model, the facelift brought an up-rated engine lineup. Porsche discontinued the diesel nonsense, though one can only get a V8 with AWD, just like before. There is a heavy push for hybrid nonsense, too, which is disappointing.
Porsche has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.27 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Porsche Panamera 971 comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. This is a bit unusual for AWD and less tunable than a multi-link front setup, but what you lose in performance you gain in durability.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
60% of British Panamera sales have been PHEVs, and the situation is expected to stay that way when this revised Panamera generation hits the market next month. Advertised as good for 34 miles of electric cruising before there’s any need to start the petrol engine, the Panamera PHEV showed on test that its battery-only range can indeed beat 30 miles.
Pros
  • Powerful V6 engine
  • Impressive range
Cons
  • Pricier than alternatives
  • No hybrid option

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Porsche Panamera Mk2 is a massive step on compared to its predecessor. It uses a new platform and features new engines, while the interior takes Porsche's luxury cars to the next level. It even looks a lot more attractive than before, with sleeker lines and some interesting, eye-catching design details. It rides like a proper luxury car, but the chassis still delivers the capability you expect from a Porsche.
Pros
  • High-tech interior
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Great range of connectivity options
Cons
  • More expensive than its predecessor

cnet[3]

Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 makes 443 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. All electrified Panameras have 27% more battery capacity for 2021. The brakes, unfortunately, are the 4S E-Hybrid's only dynamic weakness. It's quick, comfy, fun to drive, and thanks to its liftback design and folding rear seats.
Pros
  • Fun to drive
  • Powerful electric powertrain
  • Comfy, comfy seats
Cons
  • Pricier than other plug-in Panameras
  • Not the best on-road performance
