Product Overview

Maserati Ghibli III (Type M157) is an executive sedan in production from 2013. It is available with a range of inline-4, V6, and V8 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.8 liters.
The successor to the Biturbo sedan, the Ghibli revives the nameplate of a coupe, which is a strange decision. Styling-wise, the car is just a smaller variant of the Quattroporte 6. Unfortunately, V8 is harder to come by and is only offered in the Trofeo. Instead, hybrid and diesel nonsenses have found their way to the Maserati.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Maserati Ghibli comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. Combined with RWD, this setup provides one of the best handling characteristics and tuning capabilities.

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 44% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
For the 2021 model year, there are some mild interior mods, too. A new multimedia system running a more reliable, faster and higher-definition set-up, with increased connectivity. The 10.1in central touchscreen (there’s a rotary controller, too) is claimed to be a first in a car.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent handling
Cons
  • Noisy at low revs
  • Nothing in particular

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 46% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
For some, only a petrol Ghibli will do. It's more fun to drive than the diesel alternative, but the fuel and tax costs are higher. Build quality is good and the seats are very comfortable, but tall adults have insufficient rear-seat leg and headroom. Boot space is decent, at 500 litres. Ghiblis need servicing every 12,500 miles.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Excellent petrol engines
  • Decent infotainment
Cons
  • Lack of standard equipment
  • Cheap to run

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
Most noticeable changes are to the exterior styling. A new grille nicked from the stunning Alfieri concept car features, with fresh LED light units and tweaks to the bumpers. The top-level Ghibli S has been treated to a minor boost in power too, now producing 424bhp. Tweaks have also been made to the interior, but there's still lovely Italian leather galore.
Pros
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Sleek looks
  • Excellent handling
Cons
  • Diesel feels a little out of place
  • Alternatives are cheaper

carwow[4]

Reviewer score 50% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carwow have found:
The Maserati Ghibli is the cheapest car that the company sells in the UK. It is a sleek and sporty saloon that is an alternative to the likes of the BMW 5 Series and Jaguar XF. Most of what you'll see is shared with the larger and more expensive Quattroporte, which means it could hardly be more different from those alternatives.
Pros
  • Cheap to buy
  • Lots of standard equipment
Cons
  • Fiddly infotainment system
  • Expensive to run

cnet[5]

Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
For better or worse, the Ghibli Trofeo keeps you on your toes. Kudos to Maserati for using large, steering column-mounted paddles. Infotainment system is a reskinned version of Stellantis' Uconnect 5 suite. Headroom and legroom are in short supply no matter where you sit.
Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine
  • Excellent infotainment tech
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lack of finesse and composure
  • Cramped cabin
