BMW Z4 E89 LCI is a compact convertible sports car in production from 2013 to 2016. It was available with a range of inline-4 and inline-6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift E89 Z4, the LCI brought only minor cosmetic changes. The engine lineup remained largely the same, with the discontinuation of N52 being the only exception. This left only N20 and N54, two of the least reliable inline-4 and inline-6 petrol engines respectively in recent BMW history.
One plus is that BMW introduced a 7-speed DCT option for its N54-powered cars.
