Product Overview

BMW Z3 M Roadster E36/7 is a subcompact convertible sports car in production from 1997 to 2003. It was available with a range of inline-6 engines that displaced 3.2 liters paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Based on the E36/7 Z3, the M Roadster initially used the S50 engine that powered the E36 M3. From 2001, BMW upgraded the engine to the S54 that powered the E46 M3.
With a rather austere cabin, the M Roadster harkens to the lightweight roadsters such as those by Morgan. However, the car is deceivingly heavy, weighing at over 1.4 tons or 3000 lbs.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the BMW Z3 M uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
