Product Overview

Mercedes-Benz CLK A209 is a compact executive convertible in production from 2002 to 2005, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4, V6, and V8 engines that displaced 1.8 to 5.4 liters.
Based on the W203 C-Class, the A209 CLK Convertible slots between the C and the E classes. It is the open-top variant of the C209 CLK Coupe.
Introduced in 2002, when Mercedes was starting to get its acts together again, the A209 saw improved build quality over its production run. Still one should note that the CLK 55 AMG is naturally-aspirated. As Mercedes introduced the 7G-Tronic transmission in 2004, the CLK 500 also received this unit, which was troublesome in its early years.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Mercedes-Benz CLK uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
