Product Overview

Porsche Boxster 987.1 is a compact convertible sports car in production from 2004 to 2009, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of flat-6 engines that displaced 2.7 to 3.4 liters.
Compared to the 986 Boxster, the 987.1 is more akin to a facelift, as most of the design features and engine layouts were carried over. Interestingly, Porsche continued to use the unreliable 5-speed ZF 5HP automatic transmission, though the manuals are much preferred and frequently sold.
As before, all 987 Boxsters had flat-6 engines, and it is said that this generation suffers from fewer reliability issues on this front.
Porsche has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.
