Product Overview

Volkswagen New Beetle Cabriolet is an affordable subcompact convertible in production from 2002 to 2010. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.4 to 2.0 liters.
While the hatchback version of the New Beetle has the curious design that makes it hard to tell its front from the rear, the Cabriolet makes it less a problem, as the rear no longer has a sweeping window. Arguably, even though the car remains ugly, it may just be ugly enough to have become interesting and beloved by some.
Thankfully, VW only put a single diesel engine in the car, though many in Europe rushed to it, defeating the purpose of a convertible.
Owners may find that at speed the vehicle consumes a lot more than the numbers indicate, thanks to a disappointing 0.37 coefficient of drag to show for it. Utility-minded owners will have to keep in mind that the 270L (10cu-ft) cargo space may not be sufficient.
