Product Overview

Ferrari 599 (Type F141) is a mid-size luxury coupe in production from 2006 to 2012. It was powered by several tunes of a naturally-aspirated V12 engine that displaced 6.0 liters.
A departure from the 550 / 575M, the 599 is far less elegant. Today, it is regarded as one of the less successful designs in Ferrari history. Ferrari ostensibly understood the same, as the 599 did not receive a "facelift model" but was replaced by the F12berlinetta.
The last opportunity to equip a Ferrari berlinetta with a manual transmission, very, very few original owners opted for one. Most cars are equipped with the buggy "F1" automated manual transmission. The pricing difference on the used market has ballooned, with the manual car demanding 4x the cash.
One plus is that the F140 V12 is driven by a timing chain and no longer require timing belt services, though it is arguably too powerful for road use.

carmagazine[2]

Reviewer score 98%
Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
The 599 is the replacement for the much-loved but dull-looking 575. It's a two-seat coupe based on the four-place 612 Scaglietti. The body control is far better than the F430's and it changes direction incredibly well for a car with a massive V12 up front.

Pros
  • Fantastic V12 engine
  • Impressive handling
Cons
  • Not as fast as the Enzo
  • Not as fun to drive as the 575
