Product Overview

Porsche 911 (chassis code 997) is a mid-size sports car in production from 2004 to 2009, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of flat-6 engines that displaced 3.6 to 3.8 liters.
The second generation based on a water-cooled engine, the 997 worked out a lot of the mechanical faults of the 996. Still, it is a marginal evolution in terms of styling, and one may be excused for failing to tell the two apart.
A large part of the reason that owners purchase the Porsche 911 is the flat-6 (H6) engine, which has very low center of gravity, instant power response, and perfect smoothness.
Porsche has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Porsche 911 uses MacPherson front suspension.
