Product Overview

Alfa Romeo 4C is a subcompact sports car in production from 2013 to 2019. It was available with a single turbocharged inline-4 petrol engine that displaced 1.7 liters paired to a 6-speed DCT.
Compared to its spiritual ancestor, the 8C Competizione, the 4C is down four cylinders and over half the displacement. However, the smaller engine allowed Alfa Romeo to package it into a mid-engine setup. Interestingly, unlike most mid-engine sports cars, the 4C has the engine mounted transversely. This allows for higher efficiency in power transmission (thanks to the lack of 90-degree turns in the power path). It also means that the very compact vehicle is superbly balanced.
Utility-minded owners will likely need to keep an alternative for hauling things around, as the tiny cargo space is almost surely insufficient.

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The Alfa Romeo 4C caused a sensation when it was revealed in concept car guise at the Geneva show in 2011. The production version followed soon after, with exactly the same catwalk looks. Power came from a 237bhp version of the 1.75-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine found in the Giulietta Cloverleaf, mated to a six-speed TCT twin-clutch gearbox.
