Product Overview

Maserati GranTurismo (Tipo M145) is a large grand tourer in production from 2007 to 2019. It was available with several tunes of two naturally-aspirated V8 petrol engines that displaced 4.2 to 4.7 liters. Most vehicles are equipped with ZF 6HP automatic transmission, while some were available with a 6-speed automated manual.
One of the rawest vehicles on the market towards the end of its production run, the GranTurismo excelled in styling and character. It remains one of the most beautiful coupes in the 21st century, and its exhaust sound and handling are intoxicating, so much so that Maserati was able to charge top dollar for an outdated interior and poor ergonomics over a decade into the production run.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Maserati GranTurismo comes with double-wishbone suspensions at all four corners.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 45% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Even for a naturally aspirated engine, there’s a conspicuous dearth of torque at middling speeds. The rear lights also appear to belong to a Mk4 Ford Mondeo and the huge 20in rear wheels somehow look a little lost in their manhole-sized arches. Inside, the car benefits from a reasonably slick new infotainment system.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Decent handling
Cons
  • Lack of power at high speeds
  • No turbocharging

carmagazine[2]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
Maserati has taken 110kg out of the Maserati Granturismo S to create the racing-inspired MC Stradale. But although the optional roll cage, significant weight reduction, more powerful engine and higher price tag seemingly puts it on par with the Porsche 911 GT3, it is still a comfortable, everyday car. Read on for CAR's first drive review to see if the claims are true.
Pros
  • Punchy V8
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Impressive handling
Cons
  • More expensive than the Granturismo S

carwow[3]

Reviewer score 49% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carwow have found:
The Maserati GranTurismo is a sleek and sporty two-door grand tourer with a sonorous V8 engine and a well-appointed interior. It's beginning to show its age when you compare it to the likes of the BMW 8 Series and the Mercedes S-Class Coupe. Thankfully, the elegant styling hasn't aged a day since it was launched in 2007.
Pros
  • Well-appointed interior
  • Lots of standard equipment
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Dated infotainment system
  • Not as agile as rivals

topgear[4]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from topgear have found:
Achingly pretty GT in the grand tradition (except it's not built of tin foil and won't burst into flames spontaneously) Seats four, gorgeous cabin, handles well - if not completelyconvincingly. There's a huge amount of grip available here with either the computer-controlled ‘Skyhook' suspension or the steel-spring option.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Fantastic ride quality
Cons
  • Lacklustre handling
  • No automatic gearbox
