Maserati Coupe (Tipo M138) is a mid-size grand tourer in production from 2002 to 2007. It was available with two tunes of the famous Ferrari-Maserati F136R V8 engine that displaced 4.2 liters. While a 6-speed manual was standard, an automated manual based on the same gearbox was offered.
An evolution of the 3200 GT, the Maserati Coupe / GranSport is also referred to as the 4200 GT. The GranSport is a sportier variant with multiple upgrades.
Owners will certainly enjoy the characterful dry-sump V8, though with a 15.9L/100km (14.8mpg) fuel "dis-economy", one has to be prepared to pay for their "smiles-per-mile". Utility-minded owners will have to keep in mind that the 315L (11cu-ft) cargo space may not be sufficient.
