Product Overview

Ford Escape is an affordable compact crossover in production from 2000 to 2007. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.0 liters.
One of Ford's early crossovers, the Mk1 Escape was rather ugly. It also lacked the capabilities of real SUVs. While the drivetrain options were reasonably reliable on the Escape, the vehicle was overall poorly put together.
Ford also marketed the vehicle as Ford Maverick, Mazda Tribute, and Mercury Mariner.
