Product Overview

Fiat 500L is an affordable compact minivan in production from 2012 to 2018, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-2 and inline-4 engines that displaced 0.9 to 1.6 liters.
Essentially a bigger (L) variant of the Fiat 500, the 500L uses essentially the same set of drivetrain options. It also uses a similar chassis and suspension setup. This means that the vehicle is not really reliable, though driving fun is okish.
The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.

Reviewer score 66% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The 500L recalls its city car namesake, in being far less sporting or keen to engage than its Mini rival, but maintaining a certain perkiness. It's safe, predictable and easy to drive, and for many, that's plenty. Fiat is set to theme its entire range around its two iconic city runabouts: the Panda and 500.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Fantastic looks
  • Comfortable ride
Cons
  • Lacklustre infotainment system
  • Pricier than rivals
