Product Overview

Audi S5 Sportback B9 (Typ 8W6) is a compact executive sedan in production from 2016 to 2019, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a couple of V6 engines that displaced 3.0 liters.
Notably, the petrol engine now uses bi-turbocharging instead of supercharging. This brings it in line with other VAG ICE models.
For the European market, the S5 Sportback uses a TDI diesel engine since 2019 as it doesn't intend on updating the TFSI engine for the new emission regulations.
Audi has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Audi S5 Sportback B9 comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The Audi RS5 Sportback can still turn heads with its 20in alloy wheels, high-gloss black trim pieces and louder sports exhaust. The cabin, meanwhile, is as smartly appointed as ever and is home to all of the obligatory Alcantara and leather you’d expect from a ‘shporty’ German saloon. That V6 engine is impressively responsive and leaves no doubt about the accuracy of Audi’s claimed 0-62mph time of 3.9sec.
Pros
  • Powerful V6 engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Impressive handling
Cons
  • Not the most fun to drive

carmagazine[2]

Reviewer score 50% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
New S5 packs more power and torque and weighs 85kg less than its predecessor. Turbocharged V6 coupe costs £47k and has Quattro all-wheel drive for epic traction. It'll dispatch the 0-62mph sprint in 4.7sec, and does so without making its exertions obvious.
Pros
  • Powerful turbocharged V6
  • Quattro all-wheel drive
  • Comfortable interior
Cons
  • Uncomfortable to drive
  • No automatic gearboxes
