Skoda Rapid (chassis code NH3) is an entry-level compact sedan in production from 2012 to 2019. It was available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 1.6 liters.
Based on VAG's A05+ platform, the NH3 Rapid is the equivalent of SEAT Toledo Mk4 with a different badge, both slightly larger Mk5 Polo in sedan form. As such, it lacks independent rear suspensions and comes only with tiny engines.
The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.

Reviewer score 41%The Skoda Rapid underwent an almost unnoticeable facelift earlier in 2017, which included a light spruce-up in the design department. This SE L model comes equipped with rear parking sensors, climate control, cruise control and a touchscreen infotainment system too. The Rapid has 550 litres of boot space, enough to swallow at least four big suitcases for runs to the airport.

It's hugely practical, the TSI engine is quiet and smooth and it's well-equipped – three very attractive qualities for young family buyers. However, it's all just a bit... dull. Look up a definition for the word ‘car', and Rapid would be perfect.

Our mid-spec SE 103bhp test car, which offers the best compromise of outlay and spec, sets you back £15,350. The Rapid Spaceback offers miles more cabin space for that money than a Titanium-trim TDCi Ford Fiesta.

Reviewer score 42%The Skoda Rapid Spaceback takes the elongated Audi Sportback hatch-cum-estate template and applies it to Skoda's lacklustre Rapid. Despite being 180mm shorter overall and 135L inferior in the bootspace department, it's not an open-and-shut case that the Spaceback is the one to go for. It's £755 pricier (in SE trim) than an identically specced Rapid hatchback.
