Product Overview

Lexus CT 200h (chassis code ZWA10) is an affordable compact hatchback in production from 2011 to 2017, whereupon it received a facelift. It was powered by a single inline-4 engine running on Atkinson cycle that displaced 1.8 liters in a hybrid setup.
One important step of Lexus' push for hybridization, the CT 200h is a hybrid-only vehicle. It was related to the E180 Toyota Auris, though Lexus did a great job in styling the CT. Like other Toyota/Lexus hybrids, a clear e-CVT transmission was used; it was simple and robust and has the two electric motors built in.
Unfortunately, the CT 200h has very poor handling. Its small engine was not refined enough for the Lexus badge.
Lexus has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
In 2013, Lexus updated the front bumper on the CT 200h to integrate the brand's new "spindle" grille.
