Product Overview

BMW X1 E84 LCI is a subcompact crossover in production from 2012 to 2015. It was available with a range of inline-4 and inline-6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift model, this changed many of the engines. Notably, the N52 naturally-aspirated I6 engine was replaced by a rather troublesome N55 direct-injected, turbocharged I6. The bad N20 and N47 engines remained, leaving the E84 X1 with no reliable engine to choose from.
On the positive side, BMW introduced the great ZF 8HP 8-speed automatic transmission, while the 6-speed manual remained widely available.
