Product Overview

Nissan Qashqai Mk2 (chassis code J11) is an entry-level compact crossover in production from 2013 to 2020. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.2 to 1.7 liters.
Compared to the Mk1 Qashqai, Nissan managed to make the Mk2 model decent-looking, even though it's obvious that the vehicle is just a rebadged Renault Kadjar, which were available for even less.
As before, the Qashqai was powered by Renault-sourced engines not known for their reliability. The car also widely uses Nissan's unreliable CVT, making it a double whammy.
Last but not least, the Mk2 Qashqai now uses semi-independent rear suspensions.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
Nissan Qashqai is the UK’s most popular crossover hatchback. It's available in two states of tune, and both versions are more efficient than the engines they replace. The more potent 158bhp engine can now be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, a first for any mainstream Nissan. The new infotainment system makes a big difference, replacing the rapidly ageing old touchscreen with a more responsive unit.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Improved infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of standard equipment
  • No automatic gearbox

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The current model came out in 2013, and today it ranks as the fourth most popular new car in the UK. Only the Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Golf and Vauxhall Corsa sell in bigger numbers. Nissan reckons the latest changes will make it better to drive, cheaper to run and easier to live with every day. There's a new infotainment system inside, but the biggest news comes under the bonnet.
Pros
  • Fantastic infotainment system
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Not the sharpest engine
  • No automatic gearbox
