Product Overview

Alfa Romeo 156 (Type 932) Sportwagon is a compact executive station wagon in production from 2000 to 2007. It was available with a range of inline-4, inline-5, and V6 engines that displaced 1.6 to 3.2 liters.
Compared to the sedan on which it is based, the Sportwagon is a downgrade design-wise. Still, it has potent engines, good chassis and suspension setup, and looks generally fine from most angles. Unfortunately, the vehicle comes with a rather dated 4-speed automatic transmission. The automated manual, marketed as Selespeed, was unsurprisingly buggy. The good transmission is the old-school manual.
The GTA model comes with Alfa Romeo's "Bussone" V6, which is an icon.
