Product Overview

Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo G2 (chassis code 971) is a full-size luxury station wagon in production from 2017 to 2020. It was available with a range of V6 and V8 engines that displaced 2.9 to 4.0 liters.
Gone were the days of naturally-aspirated power. With this generation of Panamera, Porsche introduced a station wagon variant with a full forced-induction engine lineup. They all center around four engines: A 3.0L turbo V6 for the base model, a 2.9L bi-turbo V6 for the S model, a 4.0L bi-turbo V8 diesel, and a 4.0L bi-turbo V8 for the more exclusive models.
On the one hand, the Panamera Sport Turismo is arguably the most beautiful station wagon ever built, certainly the most handsome among its contemporaries. On the other hand, all but the base model came with AWD, and the level of complexity in the drivetrain and technologies in and around this car really cast doubt on the long-term viability of the vehicle.
Porsche has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. The official fuel economy ratings or the hybrids are exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. This is a bit unusual for AWD and less tunable than a multi-link front setup, but what you lose in performance you gain in durability.

The Porsche Panamera GTS Sport Turismo has the same stellar 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 as the sedan. In-car technology is handled by the Porsche Communication Management infotainment system. Driver-assistance features are plentiful, but don't come standard, so be prepared to shell out thousands.
Pros
  • Sleek looks
  • Porsche Communication Management infotainment system is easy to use
Cons
  • No Android Auto
  • Lack of driver-assistance features
