Product Overview

BMW 5 Series Touring E39 LCI is an executive station wagon in production from 2000 to 2004. It was available with a range of inline-4, inline-6, and V8 engines that displaced 2.0 to 4.4 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift model, the E39 Touring LCI no longer uses black plastic trims, replacing them with body-colored trims; this made the vehicle appear much more modern. Powertrain-wide, the M54 petrol engine was introduced, too.
One may be tempted to say that the 4.4L M62 NA V8 was an interesting model, and it was indeed one of the better V8s from BMW, if there ever was a good one. However, the game was really the 530i petrol and the 530d diesel with inline-6 engines paired to manual transmission.
It is worth noting that the 5-speed ZF 5HP transmission wasn't the most reliable unit, and BMW downgraded from 5HP30 to 5HP24 to save cost.
