Product Overview

Volvo V50 (Typ M) is a compact station wagon in production from 2004 to 2007, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and inline-5 engines that displaced 1.6 to 2.5 liters.
Essentially, the V50 was the successor to the V40, even though the model number increased by 10. It was introduced at a time when Volvo started emphasizing driving dynamics, perhaps a cheaper, more refined Audi if you will. Still, the V50 was stuck with MacPherson strut front suspensions (perhaps to accommodate the I5?), which hinder the handling characteristics a bit.
Naturally, the most exciting powertrains involve the turbocharged inline-5 engine (T5).
